The Governors Ball Music Festival 2024 will take place from June 7-9 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York.
The lineup was revealed today. SZA, Post Malone, and the Killers will headline, with Carly Rae Jepsen, Rauw Alejandro, Peso Pluma, 21 Savage, Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red, Labrinth, Don Toliver, Reneé Rapp, Alex G, Kevin Abstract, and Faye Webster also performing.
In 2011, Governors Island hosted the inaugural Governors Ball Music Festival. The next year, the event moved to Randalls Island and established roots there for future iterations. The 2020 edition was intended to take place at Randall’s Island Park once more, but it was canceled due to the pandemic and moved to Citi Field in Queens for the next two festivals. Following last year’s significant relocation, Governors Ball will return to Flushing Meadows Corona Park in 2024.
Diversity in Music
In its 14th year, the Governors Ball maintains its reputation for variety by showcasing a diverse spectrum of musicians from many genres. The program includes well-known Latin musicians such as Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro, and Farruko, as well as noteworthy names like 21 Savage, Dominic Fike, and Carly Rae Jepsen. The event also promises to feature thrilling debut performances, giving music fans the opportunity to discover new acts.
Ticket Options
Understanding the diversity of its audience, the festival provides a variety of ticket alternatives. The new ticket varieties for 2024 include 2-Day Bundles and the Ultimate Ticket bundle, which provides premium perks. As a gesture of community engagement, Queens residents can get a 15% discount on tickets, encouraging local participation.
Community Impact and Empowerment
More than merely a music festival, the Governors Ball is known for its good societal influence. In 2023, the festival donated more over $52,000 from ticket sales to local charity. Over 6,000 people took action to help the Queens community, demonstrating the event’s dedication to community empowerment efforts. The festival’s fusion of music, culture, and community has made it a beacon of economic and social growth in the surrounding area.
Signups are now open for a ticket presale on Thursday, January 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, with general sales beginning at 1 p.m. They’ve added two new ticket kinds for 2024: 2-Day Bundles and Ultimate Tickets, with full details available here.
