HOUSTON – It’s rodeo season once more, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has released their entertainment program for this year’s rodeo.

Nightly live music from musicians of many genres, from country to EDM to rap, is performed at the RodeoHouston .

The lineup, announced Thursday night, includes first-timers Oliver Anthony, whose song “Rich Men North of Richmond” became a right-wing anthem over the summer; Jelly Roll, whose blend of country, rock, and hip-hop earned him a Grammy nomination for best new artist; and Ivan Cornejo, 19, who is part of the new wave of regional Mexican artists alongside Nickelback.

Nickelback

Yes, the critically panned Canadian rock band is making their rodeo debut this year. The band performed at the Woodlands Pavilion last year, so there will undoubtedly be an audience.

Another first-timer is EDM duo Major Lazer, who will party like it’s 2016. Houston native Eric Alberto-Lopez, better known as DJ and producer Ape Drums, is now on the bill.

50 Cent, a rapper from Houston, will make his debut. His Le Chemin du Roi Brut Champagne won Grand Champion Best of Show at the Rodeo Uncorked competition last year and sold for $325,000. During the auction, he also paid $165,000 for a bottle of wine.

Women are once again limited to only two seats. They include Lainey Wilson, who was recently crowned Country Music Association Awards entertainer of the year, and Carly Pearce, whose singles include “Every Little Thing” and “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.” The 2020 program had more than two women for the first time, but only Maren Morris and Becky G were allowed to perform before everything shut down due to COVID-19.

Because of the new additions, favorites Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton will not be performing. Only four acts from 2023 are returning: Luke Bryan, Bun B, Zac Brown Band, and Brad Paisley.

Without wasting any time, here is the whole list for this year:
